  • Omnispace...help!

Would anyone care to enlighten me on exactly what Omnispace even is? It's hardly mentioned in the Metagrid documentation that I can find.

Specifically, I'm normally pressing buttons in Metagrid with Cubase. Then all of a sudden, maybe I touched something I shouldn't have touched, and OmniSpace appears. How do I get rid of this or delete this? Specifically, I want to get back to my Cubase-metagrid functions.

I know this is probably something obvious, but so far my only solution is to turn off my I-pad and restart. Frustrating!

OmniSpace is a dedicated profile in MetaGrid Pro that can be displayed regardless the application that is currently in focus on your computer. To display this profile, you need to tap the icon at the bottom of the side bar. You can remove the button from the side bar by going to Settings > Appearance and disable "Omnispace Button" option.

Personally, I use OmniSpace a lot - it is a hub for my system-wide commands like app launching, screen arrangement, calling people, music playback control and much more. I have assign this to a keyboard shortcut and can quickly display this profile in any application.

Let me know if you need more help.

Thank you for the explanation. Is there any mention of what you wrote above in the Metagrid User manual? I do remember the mention of OmniSpace, but nothing about what it actually does or what it's useful for. Maybe I missed that section or it's been a recent addition? I only use the basic Metagrid...not pro.

However...on my iPad 15.7.1 8th generation, you can see I have Omnispace off. But occasionally, through some...probably subtle finger gesture, or pressing of buttons, Omnispace appears. I know it happens when I have physically touched the iPad...somewhere. Then, to my knowledge, there is no way to get rid of OmniSpace until I completely close and re-start my iPad.

So is this an issue with my iPad? Would there be some type of finger gesture making OmniSpace appear when it is disabled?

See attachments. The 2nd pic is my normal display....no OmniSpace present.

Oh, yes - there are some gestures in MG Classic - here is the extract from the manual:

        GESTURES

Metagrid features several useful gestures performed on the button grid that streamline operation and editing. Here is the complete list of the available gestures in the manual - Omnispace handling is done by this:

        Tap with two fingers:
Toggle OmniSpace (same as the OmniSpace button)
