  • Metagrid always defaults to the Desktop

    Hi there,

Enjoying Metagrid Pro. It's really helpful.

I've created a Profile for myself called 'Cubase'. It includes workspaces and grids.

When I select the Cubase Midi grid, it appears to be in edit mode. If I tap on 'done' in the upper right corner, Metagrid defaults back to the Desktop.

Basically not sure how to be able to use my Cubase profile? I'd love to be able to switch between the Cubase Midi grid and the Cubase Selected Channel grid using scenes etc.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Gabriel - glad you find MetaGrid Pro useful. MetaGrid Pro displays the profile for the current application in focus on your computer so it should display the Cubase profile when you switch to Cubase on your desktop. Once you leave the Edit mode, MetaGrid Pro automatically switches to the respective profile or if it can't find any profile for the application currently in focus on your computer, it displays the Desktop profile. If you haven't already done so, watch the Quick Guide tutorial: https://youtu.be/xqME8C79iQg. It will help you understand some basic MetaGrid Pro concepts. Let me know if it helps.

Thank for your response. Yeah, I watched the video and it was helpful. For some reason, MetaGrid Pro doesn't see which application is in focus whether that's Cubase Logic or something else. I'm not sure how get MetGrid Pro to do that? Previously on MetaGrid I experienced this functionality. Thanks again!

So you have created the profiles for your favourite apps and MetaGrid Pro doesn't activate them when they are in focus on your computer, right?

Yes, that sounds right. Though I'm just using your templates for now (they're very good). Under content manager I have a profile called Cubase/Workspace/Grids. Thanks!

Can you create some more profiles and confirm that MetaGrid Pro doesn't see any of the profiles?
